Is Dassault Systems' Catia V6 coming to OS X?

News out of the Catia Operators Exchange, currently taking place in Seattle, is that Catia V6 might be ported to the OS X platform. Neil Littell, posts that V6 will run on Ubuntu and OSX. According to a quick Google, Neil is the Product Lifecycle Management Coordinator for the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) at Mississippi State University. I've asked Dassault Systemes for more details on this and will post them as soon as I get 'em. In the meantime, here's a little video of Imagine & Shape. UPDATE - SEE NEXT POST

Al stop showing us this stuff please! This stuff is a designers wet dream. What does it have to be so bloody expensive?? £18k I was quoted last year. Then there was the annual charges on top!!! For that money I can hire another new designer!
CATIA is the dogs bollocks in technology terms but way beyond the reach of the average tiny design company or small manufacturing company. Ironically the very customers who would probably benefit most from this type of stuff.
Wouldn't it be great is SolidWorks could restructure its offering to include Imagine and Shape as part of premium.....
awwww - come Kev, you know you love it... have you checked out Tsplines for Rhino yet? that stuff is crazy, what about Modo - there are a lot of tools that have similar functionality and one hell of a lot cheaper than Imagine and Shape.. But to your point, yes, I'm amazed that this technology hasn't been squeezed into SolidWorks yet. the applicability to the Catia community is negligible, but within the hands of the SolidWorks channel is could be a real differentiator mate.
I need to come across and have a yap at some point soon man..
Al
Ah T Splines and Rhino combo is looking good. I just don't have the time to get into Rhino properly, but Modo is a different matter as 401 is looking pretty damn good.
Let me know when you're around and I'll get the coffee on :-)
